Dr. Akwale-Head Disease Prevention and Control Unit MOPHS opening A GBV/HIV Workshop held on 30-31st July 2012 at the School of Monetary Studies
The workshop on strengthening Gender Based Violence/HIV response and services in Sub-Saharan Africa was organized by LVCT with support from WHO and SVRI. The workshop sought to explore the evidence, gaps in the evidence, challenges and opportunities to implementing GBV programmes within the HIV response.
The regional workshop brought together key thinkers and practitioners from the Sub-Saharan Africa region to discuss the models and extent to which these models have been applied in actual services, the challenges and opportunities for integration of GBV into HIV responses, and to debate what should be done to ensure theory becomes practice.
